Located in a touristic area close to English language schools, the brief was to create a pizza place with an internet café. The potential clientele was in general youngsters and therefore the concept was to create a fun space were one could get lost by engaging in life chats or research over the internet. This concept was eventually developed by evolving a dark blue space with slanted walls and curved edges, slightly mimicking the cyberspace world. The pizza area was treated as an extension with curved edges throughout. As opposing to the ‘cyber’ area, people here were to interact and hence a vibrant orange colour was applied as an opposing statement but simultaneously complementing the blue. All the walls were clad with medium density fiberboard [MDF] and sprayed on site whilst a layer of resin was applied to the floors. The façade was also clad in cement boards and was also sprayed on site.
